Community rules
The HR Lounge works because members trust each other. These rules keep it that way.
Who it's for
People working in HR, People & Culture, Learning & Development, Talent Management and Employee Experience in Malta. Everyone joins under their real name. Service providers are welcome, are always labelled as such, and need a one-off approval to post jobs.
Protect confidentiality
Don't share anything that could identify an employer, a colleague, an employee or a candidate. Strip names, dates and details from real cases before you post. In a small market, people may recognise more than you think. What's shared in the Lounge stays in the Lounge: don't screenshot or pass on other members' posts.
Be respectful
Disagree with ideas, not people. Harassment, discrimination, personal attacks and anything unlawful are not allowed.
Help, don't sell
Answer questions honestly and don't use discussions, replies or messages to pitch services. Paid promotion appears only in clearly labelled sponsor spaces. Sharing general information isn't legal advice; for a specific case, take professional advice.
Jobs
Post real, current vacancies only, with a gender-neutral title, open to everyone. Never ask candidates for a fee. Jobs come down after 30 days.
Open to work
Members on the Open to work board have trusted the community with something sensitive. Don't mention it outside the Lounge, and don't contact their employer about it.
Events and coffee roulette
Anyone can propose an event; the hosts check each one before it goes live. If you say you're going and can't make it, update your answer so someone else can have the place. If you join coffee roulette, reply to your match, and if you can't meet this month, tell them.
Messages
Messages go to the other member's email. Keep them relevant and polite; no bulk messages or cold sales. Members can switch messages off, and every message can be reported.
Reporting and what the hosts can do
If you see something that breaks these rules or may be unlawful, use the Report link. Reports go to the hosts, who review them; the person reported isn't told who reported them. The host and moderators can remove posts, replies, jobs and events, decline events, and suspend or remove members who break these rules.
